TOYOTA by CFAO: The brand’s historic partnership in Africa
CFAO Automotive distributes the TOYOTA brand in 16 countries of West and Central Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mali, Niger, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Chad and Togo), as well as in the French overseas territories of French Guiana and Réunion. The TOYOTA range marketed by CFAO covers every market segment, from saloons to 4x4s, pickups and buses.
Having always shared and adopted the TOYOTA principle of continual improvement, we implement a continual programme of ongoing investment in training. This commitment is fulfilled in a TOYOTA-approved training centre in Cameroon, which provides all our technical personnel with career-long training.
Consistent with the image of the brand, our TOYOTA dealerships meet the very highest international quality standards. In addition to marketing new vehicles and supplying manufacturer spare parts, our workshops provide the maintenance and repair services that underpin our commitment to the brand.
The TOYOTA brand was first marketed in Senegal in 1978 by DIASEN, a company in which CFAO was the principal shareholder. CFAO and DIASEN merged in 1995, and the subsequent acquisition of AFRICAUTO led to the creation of CFAO MOTORS SENEGAL. Since then, the brand has grown continually and consistently to become Senegalese market leader. The strength, durability and reliability of its products, combined with the professional service of its distributor, have succeeded in building a substantial base of long-term loyal customers who demand the best in the knowledge that they will receive it. In 2009, CFAO made a substantial investment in opening a completely new dealership on the Boulevard du Centenaire in Dakar. This contemporary building meets the most demanding international standards, and demonstrates the commitment of CFAO to offering its customers the best-possible service in 100% compliance with the TOYOTA Group Charter. The manufacturer recently awarded its 30-Year Relationship Award to CFAO SENEGAL at its 2011 World Convention in Las Vegas.
In the same year, CFAO MOTORS SENEGAL also received TOYOTA’s Customer Service Excellence Award and Silver Sales Award.
The world’s most widely distributed automotive brand

In its 2011 ranking of the world’s largest companies, Fortune Magazine ranked Toyota as Number 8.
